Terms of use
By using DriftVoice you agree to a small number of common-sense rules. This page explains them in plain English.
About this service
DriftVoice is an Android app built by Silenrock. It records audio, transcribes it through a third-party speech-to-text provider, and delivers the resulting text to a destination you configured (Obsidian, Evernote, or email). The app is currently in a private beta. There is no paid plan and no formal SLA.
Acceptable use
You may use DriftVoice for any lawful purpose. You may not use it to:
- Capture audio of people without their knowledge, where local law requires their consent.
- Send messages that are harassing, threatening, fraudulent, or otherwise illegal.
- Probe, abuse, or overload our infrastructure, including the transcription proxy at api.silenrock.com.
- Reverse engineer the app to extract embedded credentials, then use those credentials outside the app.
Daily quotas are enforced on the transcription and email proxies to keep costs predictable. If you hit them, the proxy returns HTTP 429. The quotas exist to protect the service from a misconfigured app instance; they are not a contractual usage limit.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you record and the resulting text. We do not claim any rights to your notes. We also do not store them; once delivered, the audio is deleted and the text exists only in the destination you chose.
Beta status
The app is still under active development. Things can break, change, or be removed without notice. We recommend treating it as a useful capture tool, not as the only place your notes live.
Third-party services
DriftVoice depends on third-party services for transcription (OpenAI via OpenRouter) and email delivery (Brevo). Outages or pricing changes on their side can affect availability. We will switch providers if necessary; the destinations you configured will keep working through any such transition.
Liability
DriftVoice is provided as-is, without warranty. Silenrock is not liable for any loss of data, missed thoughts, or other indirect damages resulting from your use of the app. Keep a habit of saving important things to a permanent system you trust.
Termination
You can stop using DriftVoice at any time by uninstalling the app. We can suspend or revoke access to the server-side proxy if we detect abuse. In the rare case that we do, we will email you at the address you used to sign up.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes are dated at the bottom of this page and announced to waitlist signups by email.
